Centro Cultural Aztlan presents El Gran Dia de los Artistas! In celebration of our 48th anniversary, Centro Cultural Aztlan presents El Gran Día de los Artistas on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 11:00pm to 5:00pm.  This free indoor community event features live music, dance, and poetry performances, as well as live art demonstrations, an artisan market showcasing original and unique works by local artists and artisans, and two fine art exhibits in our galleries.  Centro Cultural Aztlan was founded in June of 1977, and we invite you to join us in celebrating 48 years of community arts programming in San Antonio. The event features fun for the whole family, including:
  • A fabulous Artisan Market with over 25 artists and makers, featuring handmade fine crafts, Art, Jewelry, home decor, clothing and more!
  • Live painting, demos and a full day or performances from dance, poetry, and music!

A3 Press: 15 Años. A collection of large scale prints by Kim Bishop and Luis Valderas. This exhibition offers a compelling glimpse into the dynamic world of large-scale street prints, showcasing a selection of impactful works created by the collaborative efforts of Kim Bishop and Luis Valderas over the past fifteen years. Their shared vision has manifested in the form of A³ Press pop-up industrial press events, a groundbreaking initiative that has brought the spectacle of large-scale printmaking to diverse communities throughout the state of Texas. Since 2010, A³ Press has focused in forming a powerful visual chronicle of ongoing socio-political injustices as experienced and interpreted by the communities of the frontera region and the wider state of Texas. This exhibition thus offers a unique opportunity to engage with a powerful intersection of art, community, and social commentary, underscoring the enduring relevance of printmaking as both an art of the people and a medium of revolution. El Gran Dia de los Artistas featuring “Summer”

Centro Cultural Aztlan will present El Gran Dia de Los Artistas to celebrate our 46th Anniversary on Saturday, July 15, 2023, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.  Centro Cultural Aztlan was incorporated in June of 1977, and we are inviting you to help us mark this significant milestone by celebrating with us over four decades of presenting valuable arts programs to the San Antonio community.  El Gran Dia de Los Artistas is a free community event and promises to be an explosion of creativity in the Deco District showcasing live music, poetry, art demonstrations, and more.   The event will feature:
  • Live music Performances by Gelina, Jorge y Nicole, Armando Martinez, Sabrina Estevez and Blue Feather Band, and Liza Ybarra.
  • Live Painting and art demonstrations
  • Poetry performances by The Jazz Poets of San Antonio
  • Over 25 Artists and artisans showcasing original and unique works with an Artisan Market.
  • A Women exhibition titled “Summer” featuring works by:
Norma Jean Moore, Celeste De Luna, Kim Bishop, Brandy Gonzalez, Anita Valencia, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Lizette Ortiz, Angelica Mayorga, Maureen Doebbler, Rita Maria Contreras, Liliana Wilson, Anel Flores, Gricelda Nill, Edna Lugo, and more!
